The Happiness Framework

Last week, I attended the Vator Splash event, where I had the opportunity to listen to a talk by Tony Hseih, CEO of Zappos (sold to Amazon.com in 2009 for $1.2 billion). While his talk was mainly about building Zappos and the company culture within, it was the last 5 min of his presentation that really inspired me. He talked about the science of happiness and referred to one such framework, where he defined 3 levels of happiness as Pleasure, Passion and Purpose.

Change is a good thing, especially when its for the better.

The best part of being a small business is that we are fluid enough to adapt to the needs of our customers. So, we made a few changes while we were taking a break last week (and you thought we were off to the beach).

Soft Launch, Launch, Re-launch - enough already...(sorry not yet).

We first started cooking as Green Coriander on Dec 4th 2009 and used December as a soft launch - selling our meals for a promotional price of $5. On Jan 2nd we formerly launched Green Coriander with various meal options and actual prices. On Feb 15th 2010 we relaunched with a new website, delivery service and expanded our menu to include organic chicken as an option.

Michael Pollan, you truly are a rock star!

Earlier this year I had attended Michael Pollan’s lecture at City Hall in SF. I wrote a blog right after and I think it will be appropriate to re-publish that blog here as the first entry.
